Mameko Maeda

Born in Tokyo in 1993. Started her career as an illustrator/artist in 2020. Her style of works focuses on the tension and wrinkles created by the expansion and contraction of the body, inspired by modern dance and jazz dance which she has been learning since childhood. She constructs the canvas screen in control of gravity and force that beautifully affect every part of a body. It is inevitable for viewers to be charmed by the uniqueness of her expansive characters, giving us the energy of the body. 

1993年東京都出身。2020年からイラストレーター・アーティストとして活動を始める。幼少の頃から習っていたダンスの影響で身体を使った表現に関心を持ち、身体の伸縮によって生まれる張りやシワの美しさに着目したふくよかな体型の人物を描いている。開放的なキャラクターたちがユーモラスに描かれる作品に海外からのオファーも急増。韓国でのアートフェア出展が決定するなど、その活躍を世界へと広げている。
