岡山県出身。グラフィックデザイナーを経て、2016年より東京を拠点にアーティストとして活動。造船所から出た捨てられるはずの木くずをアップサイクルして、唯一無二の木工アート作品を制作している。グラフィックデザインと木工技術を融合した造形力を駆使し、独自のキャラクターを彫刻や絵画などで表現している。

Born in Okayama Prefecture. After working as a graphic designer, he has been working as an artist based in Tokyo since 2016. EMU turns discarded wood scraps from local shipyards into one-of-a-kind pieces of wooden art. His innovative approach fuses graphic design and woodworking techniques, expressing his unique and humorous character through sculptures and paintings.

廃材から削り上げた彫刻作品に黒板塗料でペイントした「黒板こけし」シリーズ。滑らかな木材の表面、黒板塗料の重厚感、幾何学的な構図、ユーモラスなキャラクターが融合し、つい触れたくなるほど遊び心溢れるフォルムや材質が特徴の作品。裏面は蛍光塗料で施されており、白い壁に飾れば、鮮やかなオレンジ色が優しく照らされる。

The "Blackboard Kokeshi" is a series of sculpture carved from scrap wood and painted with chalkboard paint. It is carved with precision and attention to detail, the transformation begins with the application of chalkboard paint to the surface to draw out his unique characters. On the reverse side of the sculpture, EMU has coated the wood with fluorescent paint, which gently illuminates when displayed on a white wall.
